As the United States celebrates Veteran’s Day, let me take a bried aside to express my thank you to our fine veterans as well as our soldiers that are currently fighting for our freedoms. Too often are the sacrifices of so few taken lightly to ensure that I have the ability to live in freedom. All of our men and women who have fought to make this country free from the Revolutionary War to the Global War on Terror are honored today, however Veteran’s Day should not be just one day per year.
Each and every day that every single American wakes up in freedom is Veteran’s Day. Every day that many across this globe wake up in a Democracy rather than a Fascist government or a Communist nation is Veteran’s Day. Each time an American is afforded the right to go to a baseball game, watch CSI on television or spend some time with his or her family is Veteran’s Day. For every single day the freedoms our veterans have fought to secure should be known as Veteran’s Day.
On a personal aside, I’d like to thank my two late grandfathers for their service. Samuel Evans and Frank Anglim both served in the Navy during World War II. While Samuel served in the states, Frank spent his time divided securing ports in Italy, England, Normandy and accross the Pacific Theater. I am proud of both of my grandfathers for their service just as I am proud of every single American who has worn the soldier’s uniform for this country.

Churchill’s honoring of the airmen who almost single-handedly preserved the UK from destruction and conquest in the Battle of Britain is true still today for all the men who risk their lives voluntarily in the service of a free nation.

Happy Veterans Day
You’re pulling the cart in which the rest of us ride, and a lot of us appreciate it more than you’ll ever know.

Veterans Day
The veterans who have given us everything we have to day get only a single day of recognition for our country, but they have an everlasting symbol which most of us respect: the flag. Some wonder why Conservatives tend to…
