Apparently a Cairo-based Muslim interfaith organization believes the media needs to be ‘trained’ in the appropriate ways to cover Islam. This comes after a Danish newspaper published some controversial cartoons of Muhammed. One cartoon pictures Muhammed with a suicide bomb on his head in the form of a turban. The organization will stage a one-day conference in Denmark in March to address “the ignorant and inflammatory portrayal of Islam in the media”.
The speakers include British journalist and Muslim convert Yvonne Ridley, who made headlines in September 2001 when she was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan while working for London’s Daily Express, and held hostage for 11 days.
…
…after the Denmark conference, they will start planning for another conference in Australia which has recently been plagued by race riots involving Islamic immigrants.Ridley told Islamonline (IOL) that the March conference in Denmark, “can be a turning point if it succeeds in getting non-Muslim journalists covering Islam and Muslims objectively. It will be the start of a big thing.”
…
“As a professional journalist, I owe it as a duty to myself and to my profession to inform myself to write with some authority. I am sick of reading, for example, in the western media that suicide bombers shave their body hair before they go out to carry out their attacks.”
Ha! Whether suicide bombers shave their body hair is the least of my worries or interests. I’m just wondering how long before we get this ‘training’ in the US.

For starters, stop referring to these terrorists as having anything to do with Islam. These people are pure evil and hide behind any religion whether it be Islam or Christianity. Islam and Terrorism are not synonymous no matter how much NeoCons want you to believe this.

What exactly is in the post you commented upon that says Islam equals terrorism or vice versa? You seem to be concerned with labels, and that’s fine, but then you label Debbie as a Neocon. I don’t think she’s a Neocon, but I doubt you understand what that terms actually means nor what the actual post was about.
First off, thanks for the comment. Heh.
