A private Kuwaiti news channel aired a new Jill Carroll hostage video today:
(CBS) U.S. journalist Jill Carroll, who was kidnapped in Iraq a month ago, pleaded with authorities to meet her captors’ demands quickly in a video aired on Kuwaiti television Thursday, saying “there is a very short time.”
Carroll appeared in the black-and-white video wearing an Islamic veil, sitting in a chair in front of a wall with a large floral design. She spoke to the camera in a firm voice, without weeping.
“I am here. I am fine. Please just do whatever they want, give them whatever they want as quickly as possible,” she said, saying she was speaking on Feb. 2. “There is a very short time. Please do it fast. That’s all.” [Source]
The short, 11 second clip is included with the WCBS report. It’s interesting to note that it wasn’t Al Jazeera that aired the tape. Obviously its great news she is still alive and hopefully she is rescued soon.
