You seriously can’t make this stuff up. Today, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called on Muslim countries to fund the Palestinians.
Also in a Washington Post editorial, Ex-Pres Jimmy Carter “has urged Israel and the US not to punish the Palestinians for giving Hamas a victory” by withholding funds.
Like LGF notes, this kinda puts ol’ Carter and the Khamenei on the same page…
Update (Chad): It’s also against U.S. law to fund a terrorist organization. Hamas is a state designated terrorist organization. What Carter is arguing for, essentially, is the breaking of a U.S. law to fund a terrorist organization without one concession made by the group. That’s pretty much how he ran his term in office which is why he will be remembered, assuming he will of course, for being one of the worst presidents of all time.
On a lighter note, the closet Liberal in my wonders if this is a conspiracy theory because Carter is asking the White House to break the law. A sitting president funding a terrorist organization would surely be an impeachable offense.
