A new posting on a jihadi message board (”Good News Soon”) claims that Osama bin Laden will soon release a video praising the life of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. “A tribute to the martyr of the Islamic nation and prince of the martyrdom-seekers, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, God rest his soul, from Sheik Osama bin Laden, God preserve him,†reads in part the posting that is accompanied with flashing banners showing some of Al Qaida’s most wanted men.
Does this mean that OBL will show his ugly mug to the world while praising a man who declared war on Shia Muslims and all us disgusting Infidels and in the process murdered thousands? We can only hope we’ll see the face of OBL and his background, perferably with a map pinpointing his location. Be forewarned though, there have been previous postings promising an impending OBL video that just, well, never actually was made or released. It’s a way jihadis stir the pot, so to speak, and get other jihadis all hot and bothered.
As a bit of a side note, does anyone else find it laugh on the floor hilarious that while radical Islamists say materialism is a sin they participate in these unspoken contests to design the most annoying, flashy and cosmetically loud banner images to include in their message board postings? Is that not itself a form of materialism? The person with the best graphics program would, at least in theory, have the best banner.
If that doesn’t make you laugh, the Hot Air Vent on Jihad rap should. There’s just something very funny about watching Michelle Malkin trying to pass a beat, uh, errrr, whatever the terminology is. Korn is about as close to rap as my music tastes go.
“He was such a nice boy and he never would be involved in terrorism.” We all know that’s the most common statement given after a terrorism suspect is arrested and accused of some heinous crime. It truly is, or could be, form quotes for newsrooms accross the globe to copy and paste each time an arrest occurs. What though happens when the very people that said such things have actually made calls for jihad themselves?
The wives of four of the Toronto 17 have written statements on the Internet supporting jihad in the past, one of whom even said that if her husband didn’t participate in jihad she would divorce him. Does he know that in Sharia Law he could slap her sideways and back and forth for making such a blasphemous statement? Stupid jihadis.
Other statements call for the death of homosexuals and, naturally, all Jews. It always goes back to the Jews with these jihadis. But what is perhaps more important is that the four women were found to have written numerous Internet postings, a reported 6,000, that called for all Muslims to implement Sharia Law. Yes, these are women who are calling for a legal system that would put their citizenship on the back burner just barely above the homosexuals and Jews they wish to kill. This is not exactly shocking, but it’s a stark reminder jihadis come in all sizes, sexes and degress of levels of intelligence.
More below the fold . . .
Melanie Phillips, the author of the new book ‘Londonistan,’ which argues in part that England has become too multicultural and political correct to fight radical Islam, appeared on the BBC’s Anita Rani show. Her appearence was quite amusing in the sense that I thouroughly enjoy the British sense of intelligent superiority as demonstrated so elequently by Christopher Hitchens. Nonetheless, it is a topic of interest and it’s quite telling to see how pissed off she makes the host and the callers just by, at times, repeating numbers from British government studies.
My favorite line though comes from one of the callers whose claims of the 9/11 hijackers and 7/7 suicide bombers “they were not Muslims, I defy you to find proof they were Muslims.” There is this thought within the Islamic community that doesn’t consider these people Muslims, and first off that’s a great sign. It means they are being rejected which is what everyone wants. But it’s also a sign of great denial that there can in fact be evil Muslims. That is also evidenced in the Pew study and the comments by the imam of a Canadian mosque where at least eight of the Toronto 17 attended and where one reportedly handed out videos praising the 9/11 hijackers.
To catch the segment with Phillips, fast forward to around the 2 hour, 10 minute mark in the program. It does not work in Firefox either. Thanks to Power Line.
The BBC though has always maintained they need to stay politically correct, which is actually what Phillips was arguing and continues to argue against. Two months ago the BBC commissioned a study on whether it was right for the media organization to use the words terrorist and terrorism when reporting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The study found that those two words were fine to use in the proper context.
Proving once again that there’s no reason to conduct a study when the results are thrown out if they do not fit your previous beliefs, the BBC has decided they will not use those two dreaded words. The BBC feels it is a value judgement on what to call those who indiscriminately murder innocent civilians in the name of Allah. I suppose it is, but the BBC’s value judgement has a pretty bad track record. If you recall, it was the BBC who reported on the July 7 London bombings first as being carried out by terrorists, later to militants and even later to bombers . . . all in the same day revising each earlier written article as time passed.
Over the course of this past week, we’ve reported on the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claiming they have 20 chemical warheads and will attach those warheads on the daily launches of Kassam rockets into Israel. We’ve also posted upon a scientist who says the group’s claims are fantasy rather than reality. Today the group claims that they fired one of these chemical warheads into Southern Israel. Either this statement is more fantasy or the chemical warhead they developed is nothing more than Windex because there have been no reports of any side effects from the rocket.
The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades though has other weapons they will use against Israel. “We are preparing suicide bombers, car bombs, tunnels, and booby-trapped donkeys,” a spokesman for the group said. When all else fails, as the modern history of jihad tells us, radical Islamic terrorist groups always fall back to using jackasses, both human and animal.
The PRC, who yesterday announced they murdered an innocent Israeli civilian, said the operation was “planned by the cell carefully in advance and was implemented flawlessly” and added the group “planned to murder Asheri and to negotiate the return of his body.” What type of planning is required to find an Israeli hitch-hicker and shoot him in the back of the head? To me it sounds like the PRC just stumbled upon a Jew and the hatched the ever so elaborate plan to kill him and try to sell his body to Israel for any number of concessions.
Coalition forces clashed with a Shia militia in Iraq today and among those detained were Iranian “fighters.” What “fighters” means I don’t know. Either they are just simple jihadis wanting to fight in Iraq or they are more nefarious soldiers of Iran.
Iran Focus reports that the Agents of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) has sent spies to the southern Iraqi city of Basra to foment unrest. It should be pointed out that through the course of the past three years there have been numerous reports of Iranian involvement in Basra. Reports backed by Iraqi intelligence indicate these Iranian fighters are trained in Lebanon, likely under the watchful eye of Iranian sponsored Hezbollah, and then sent into Basra. “In Basra alone it has eight large intelligence bases.†Naturally one must wonder why if this is a known then why haven’t these intelligence bases been raided.
Meanwhile on the Iranian nuclear program front, Iran is clearly showing the nation sought out negotiations over their program as a ruse. Color me shocked. Today the Iranian nation claims they will render a decision on the newest proposal in August, defying President Bush, Russia, and the EU-3 seeking a short-term response. Why it takes three months to decide if a proposal works or not is beyond me, but I suspect it has more to do with the intention of Iran to defy the international community as a whole and continue their nuclear program as they see fit. It fits the nation’s pattern with the discussions with just the EU-3, therefore any and all analysts who claimed the inclusion of the United States into said discussions would create a change should consider a new career.
When Playboy decided to open shop in Indonesia, there were mass protests that included buildings being burned. This time though Ronald McDonald was safe. Despite the protests, Playboy in Indonesia actually sold well. Now the editor-in-chief of Playboy in Indonesia and the magazine’s first centerfold are suspects in an indecency case. One would imagine the local laws were checked before the magazine was published, but that appears not to be the case.
