I never doubted Al Poppin-Ibn Fresh would run when the security plan implementation was at hand. Like all that have come before, the leaders of the martyr’s are always in the rear with the gear, and never out front seeking paradise for themselves.
I know J the D was being snarky, but the decline in violence, whether it is sectarian or insurgent, will present an image of victory for the President’s plan, and we all know a victory in securing the peace in Iraq, is a defeat for the ChickenHearts in this country, especially the ChickenHearted congress critters, and presidential candidates.

The problem though is this. The surge is working; there’s little question about it. The Mahdi Army has largely closed up shop. But it’s all temporary. We all know they’ll come back out after the 21.5K soldiers leave and then what? Will the Iraqi military be ready enough to push back?

That’s the test, and that will be the prevailing measure of whether the surge was worth it or not. Mookie can run all he wants, but will the Iraqi government let him back in without putting him behind bars or in front of a bullet?

This is bad news for President Bush and his so called, “Surge”. Like Barack Obama just said in his recent CBS interview, America needs to talk openly with its enemies in order to reach common ground. How can we negotiate with our enemies when our military scares them off the battlefield?

Absolutely, and it makes perfect sense for Mookie to flee to Iran. I don’t blame him one bit, I just thought it was odd in the context of the softball interview given by Sawyer to Ahmadinejad knowing his response was, more or less, crying for peace.

I made the comment to another poster last week, that the Shia Doughboy would flee to Iran, before the security plan goes into effect. I even saw a Kurdish friend yesterday, that I hadn’t seen in over a year, as he was just back from being an interpreter with the U.S. Army in Mosul. I mentioned the same thing to him, and he agreed Sadr would run, and we both agreed he should have been ‘matryed’ several years ago, when we was directing his militia in open conflict with the MNF.
I’m not right often enough, but this one was an easy call.
A JDAM should blast his house anyway. Less incentive to return.
