New ITB Video: Confusion on Capitol Hill

Filed under: Politics, Terrorism, Videos by Chad at 5:59 am CST

Covering the first day of the debate over the House bill to diplomatically slap President Bush on his plan to try to secure Baghdad and win the war in Iraq, ‘Confusion on Capitol Hill’ explores the two sides who are presenting two entirely different sets of arguments.

On one side, Democrats are focusing like a laser beam (thanks Michael Medved) on Iraq and not looking at the larger picture. Republicans, on the other hand, are framing Iraq into the larger GWOT. Naturally, you all know where I fall in terms of that argument.

I used footage from terrorist attacks, photos from attacks, video from Ayman al-Zawahiri, several different articles and video from some of the speeches to illustrate just how odd the debate is. ‘Confusion on Capitol Hill’ runs barely over 15 minutes, yet took just a bit longer to collect data for and produce it (several hours actually).

Please enjoy the film, and I’d appreciate any feedback.

If you’re new to the site, welcome and please take a look at the other ITB created videos. I will be adding ‘Confusion on Capitol Hill’ to that list later today.

Apparently lots of people don’t realize there is an al Qaeda in Iraq. And some of those people are in Congress…….

“The democRats in Congress are playing with this Nation’s National Security” (my emphaisis)

Tell us something we don’t already know. Great video btw…

Now what I want to know is exactly with democRats are simply ignorant as a result of their refusal to look at the cold hard facts and which are doing it merely to make BOOOSH look bad.

Neither is any better reason than the other but both deserve to be called TREASON and be formally charged as such.

The video is excellent. Stitching the politicians in Washington with the terrorist acts committed against Americans is excellent.

This looks like an excellent video. But, in my opinion, the music sound track is wayyy too loud. Any audio playing behind the music is almost completely inaudible. I humbly recommend posting another version without the music.

First off, thank you to all who have left comments, either on this post or through email, especially the email I received with a rather embarassing ‘typo’ within the video.

Raymondo, the title of the second song is ‘Last Resort’ by Papa Roach. This is the first video that I have not included a song list, and I may go back in and include it, but I’ve never used this much music before.

Dirckthenoorman, music over speech is only in the beginning of the film, and that was done for a variety of reasons including that I didn’t think it was important to hear the sounds of some of the events shown. Plus, it was Weezer. You just don’t silence Weezer.

One of my readers said they could not view the video for some reason, and another pointed out that Capitol was misspelled (Capital), but I notice the Jawa Report did the same thing.

Others thought it was a great video.

I thought the music was too loud also, in comparison with the voice volume of the politicians bloviating.

Yep, fixed the spelling error. Unfortunately, I cannot increase the volume of the politician videos because they were of poor quality originally, much less when I had to convert them to different formats three times over. Likewise, it would have been a crap shoot to decrease the volume of every single music track and it would end up less cohesive as a result.

The video was fine. The music was a distraction, too loud and covered up a lot of the audio. I would have much preferred Tiny Tim doing Tip Toe Through the Tulips *8-)

    Video A+

We will lose this country from the inside… not from any external force. I worry about my children and future grandchildren. When we can say, ‘I told you so’, it will be too late.

Ever since September 11, 2001 I don’t care what happens to any Muslim, I’m 100% US blood and Muslims attacked my country on that day a direct assault. Iraq suffer please suffer May your streets run with fresh blood daily. This is war; the thing you Muslims should fear is the Army that has no one religion.

Our President is caving in but the people are not if he allows your kind in we will shun you and make life a living hell, Really I have never seen such a bunch of stupid fucks in all my life as the Muslims, Shi’a Sunni and Kurds let’s kill each other and blame the Jews or the Christians. In case you have not figured it out there is multiple denominations to the Christian religion but they pretty much gave up on killing each other over it.

Let’s talk about France and the stupid Government of France. They bring you Muslims in and allow you to work and raise families the war in Afghanistan starts than Iraq these Muslims that France welcomed blow shit up killing people. France new PM pulls all his troops from both wars burying his head in the sand, just to be fucked later by the Muslims that figured out if you blow shit up you get what you want, I laugh at France considering that the Muslims are blowing shit up.

If you Muslims tried that shit here we blow nation up!

I’ve never thought the U.S. military was a paper tiger, Raymondo, but I do wonder what the perception of the military would be if there was an immediate withdrawal. Yes, it’s been close to four years now, but perception is often greater than reality.

We do know the Arab media has completely altered the face of the war and is doing their best to malign then entire concious of the so-called West. The perception might be unavoidable regardless of when the Coalition pulled out, but judging by the reaction here in the U.S. regarding England withdrawing 1,500 of a 7,000 strong force anything that could be perceived as bad will be taken as such. That’s my concern.
