Fred Thompson, what’s NOT to like?

Filed under: Politics by Debbie at 7:30 pm CDT

Fred Thompson was the must see TV this week, not the latest Republican candidates debating. Even using the word debate is a joke. Too many candidates, lousy moderators and even worse questions. Fox News Channel set the bar so high with their debate, it makes these others look very sad and unprofessional. Raise your hand if …. you’re supporting Fred Thompson!

A.C. at Fore-Left has a nice article on the latest Republican Presidential debate and compares that with the Sean Hannity interview with Fred Thompson last night. A.C. concludes:

One of the things that draws me to Fred is his basic horse sense and the no nonsense manner in which he speaks of America at a crossroads. It definitely is. He’s not very telegenic and he’s not particularly slick in speech–I don’t even care much for his acting abilities–but he’s saying the things the others aren’t but should be.In some ways he comes across as the wise uncle or grandfather among a bunch of children, perhaps oversimplified but perhaps who we need now. If he runs.

I agree completely. Rastaman wonders if “saying the right things” is all that Thompson is doing. I don’t think that’s the case. Thompson is not a career politician and he is running because he truly believes things need changing.

Thompson understands who the enemy is, he’s not afraid to name them. He understands that welfare and entitlement programs are bringing this country down. He understands that an attack on Iran, or some other country, could be necessary and he’s willing to do it. He is not for amnesty for illegal aliens.

Fred Thompson. More Than Just A Homely, Bulldog Face?He said Washington’s partisan politics had bred cynicism about government and there was a “disconnect” between Washington politicians and Americans.”

What? A politician who steps on the Big Lie that most Americans favor amnesty for 12 million MORE illegals? Someone who dares to speak of the vast gap that’s arisen between Them and Us? (Islamanazi)

Fred Thompson says he would pardon Scooter Libby, but I cannot find any comments from him on Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean!!! My hope would be that Fred would pardon them as well.

One thing is for sure, Fred Thompson would not let this happen:

“A plot by pro-American dissidents to overthrow one of the last Asian communist dictatorships has been thwarted by a US undercover agent who posed as an arms dealer. (read the details)

Do not miss J.B. Williams article at CFP:

I’ve pointed out for some time now that no man (or woman) in their right mind would ever seek national public office today. Only self-absorbed career thieves determined to cash-in on the get-rich-quick scheme of modern politics would endure the hate-mongering cesspool of American politics. Anyone not looking to cash-in, can easily live without the stench of modern politics.I pointed out early on, that the first sign that Fred Thompson might be the right man at the right time was the fact that only Fred Thompson was smart enough not to want the most thankless job in the world, or want to endure the most scum-filled election process in order to win it.

The second sign that he might be the right guy with the right stuff is the undeniable fact that he scares the Lenin right out of modern secular globalists on both sides of today’s political aisle. (read it all)

Yep, Fred Thompson is running for President and now it’s time for everyone to start attacking him. That’s OK, he can take the heat.
