Distress and Muslims

After listening to the news today, it strikes me that the greatest threat to Muslims these days … is Muslims themselves. Fatah’s killing Hamas, Hamas is trying to kill Fatah. Sunni and Shia are killing each other in Iraq. Just about any place where Muslims are dying, they are doing it to themselves.

I would like to direct you to The Return Of Scipio and his article today “Islam And World Conquest.” Be sure to read the comments at the end of the article. Then read today’s article, “Islam’s Flight From Reason.”

Whether one whose mindset has led him to dhimmitude or one whose hatred of his own culture has led him to champion Islam, there is in both cases an ignorance of Islamic history, a history that anyone can easily discover by the simple act of opening a book.Once that has been achieved one sees that Islam acts today exactly as Islam acted yesterday, exactly as it did from the time of Mohammed (570-632).

Next click over to Freedom’s Zone and read “The Islamization of Europe (and America) and Policies to Prevent It” via Islam Watch.

… “In many cases, a moderate Muslim evidently has the same goals as the terrorists but refuses to fight for them with a weapon in his hand and sacrifice himself in battle (until jihad has been legally proclaimed). But that is no reason to make a sharp differentiation between a moderate and an extreme Muslim religion”. [snip]… many Muslim immigrants evidently look upon themselves as a group which shall transform Europe to a Muslim society. They feel a larger solidarity with the Ummah than with their new country and their fellow citizens.

Sidebar (America also?): Much of this brings to mind the increasing number of women I see wearing burkas, headscarfs, and other Islamic dress in my own community. They appear to flout their piety and display no intentions of assimilating into Western society.

You will now be prepared to read “Muslim Armies Are Not Relevant - But Terrorism Is!” via Kashmir Watch

Zafar Bangash points out in his piece at Kashmir Watch that this month marks a painful anniversary in modern Muslim history: the defeat of the Arab states by Israel in 1967, and the loss of al-Quds and the Masjid al-Aqsa, Islam’s third holiest site. Incredible as it may seem, that’s the good news.Bangash goes on to remind Muslims that in the subsequent four decades, not one Muslim army has successfully defended its country’s borders or the honor of its people. [snip]

… However, what has been successful is terrorism:

And what’s this about? From Jihad Watch:

Distress

From AP (thanks to Kemaste):

A cap is lowered by a crane to the top of the minaret during a ceremony at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, the largest mosque in New England, before the first call to prayer, Saturday, June 9, 2007, in Roxbury, Mass. (AP Photo/Lisa Poole)

Why is the flag upside down? Maybe it was just on its way up when Lisa Poole’s shutter snapped, but it’s a telling photo. From the U.S. Code:

The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

And here is a capsule explanation of why the Boston mosque is a signal of dire distress.

Perhaps the flag in that picture reflects the distress that Americans (and Brits) should be feeling. It also brings to mind the upside down American flag held by Mexican illegal aliens marching in American streets in May of 2006.

Digg It!
