Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter simply cannot be sound of mind anymore, assuming of course he ever was. I have serious concerns about Carter’s mental health, and in no way do my concerns stem from his rather questionable tenure as head of this nation. Sure, we can quibble with the role Carter played in deposing the Shah of Iran giving way to the Iranian Revolution that has largely contributed to the rise of 21st Century radical Islam and a maniacal nation-state in pursuit of nuclear tipped missiles, however at least in that respect it’s easy to conclude Carter simply sold out.
But that raises an interesting point. If Carter was willing to sell out, literally, a U.S. ally in favor of an Islamist government, why can’t we conclude the below comments were made through the prism of bank accounts rather than rationality?
The United States, Israel and the European Union must end their policy of favoring Fatah over Hamas, or they will doom the Palestinian people to deepening conflict between the rival movements, former US President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday . . .
“This effort to divide Palestinians into two peoples now is a step in the wrong direction,” he said. “All efforts of the international community should be to reconcile the two, but there’s no effort from the outside to bring the two together.”
Carter was pessimistic this would happen soon. I don’t see at this point any possibility that public officials in the United States, or in Israel, or the European Union are going to take action to bring about reconciliation,” he said. (source)
Newsflash: Hamas and Fatah have waged war against each other since Hamas won the election. Actually, they have warred against each other longer than that but let us focus on the recent past.
In Carter’s utopia world where “there’s a good chance” Hamas will embrace peace and be willing to coexist peacefully with Israel, he neglected to mention Hamas can’t figure out how to coexist peacefully with anyone.
After Hamas staged its coup, it did the only thing the group knows how to do well. Hamas members dragged out Fatah leaders who had surrendered or were wounded and executed them in the streets in front of cheering men, women and children who seemingly know no better joy in life than watching blood spill on the streets. Quite a peaceful people you see, both Hamas and the death-fetished gathering of misfits.
Irregardless of the omission of the culture in which Hamas operates within and perpetuates to gain power, Carter somehow feels the United States and Israel should try to be some sort of moderator between Hamas and Fatah. If there is a country who has less credibility to moderate anything with Hamas it would be Israel, a state the terrorist group has pledged to vanquish and continues to maintain Israel should not exist despite Carter’s mind-boggling refusal to read the group’s own charter or any statements to that effect.
The solution to the problem is just so easy, Carter must believe. Based upon his numerous comments, he must believe the only rock that lies within the smoothly paved highway between a militant Hamas and a peaceful Hamas is international involvement. However, it has always been perfectly clear that rock threatening to derail Carter’s motorbike is not international involvement, but rather the existence of one tiny Jewish state. How dare that rock be Jewish, but at least we know the Israeli rock is not the one that is expected to come alive to smite the Jews under Allah’s Final Solution to the ‘problem’ of the Jewish state.
Therefore the only rational conclusion to Carter’s constant lunacy is that he is either not sound of mind or there are cash transactions made to sway his beliefs. There has to be a good reason for Hamas leaders to smuggle in suitcases filled with cash rather than simply deposit funds or launder them through the group’s paymasters in Damascus and Tehran.

If it’s any consolation, hardly anything Carter says is heard in the media on this side of the Atlantic.
The web is the only place we can enjoy his blissfully ignorant ramblings…
However, a disturbing amount of people over here seem to have the same oblivious approach to peace in the middle east as does your former president:

Wait a minute. Everything bad that happens in the Middle East can be blamed on the Danes? Sure, the Jews can be blamed for anything. I’ve been extremely busy and it’s rained almost everyday for the past two weeks here in Dallas. Those damn Jooos! But the Danes? Or are you saying as in the collective ‘West,’ therefore the non-Islamic world that we all know is at fault for the rise of radical Islam? Jimmy says it’s so.

Adam, great point within. France and Germany, two nations which have quarreled with the U.S., England and Israel are major terrorist targets. Do you mean it might not have to do with what the media elite seem to believe?
Denmark, on the other hand, has been lock-step with the U.S. and England (I’m unsure on the nation’s stance with Israel) and started riots from the cartoons. However, for all of those transgressions, I’ve yet to read of a major terrorist plot connected to Denmark.
How can all of this be?

Chad, that’s easy – Denmark is a tiny nation on the margins of central Europe with a population approximately that of Madrid and it’s urban area. In short, we’re not a high profile target, and even a lunatic suicide bomber is going to want to maximize the attention to his death.
Besides, half the world haven’t heard of Denmark and even with our cartoons and our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, most muslims aren’t gonna hold any serious grudge against us, at least not compared to most other western countries…
Half the enmity they feel stems from jealousy and a sense of inferiority anyway, rather than any feeling of having been personally wronged – the other half is simply contempt for anyone who is not a muslim. This was very evident in the 80′s when I lived in Saudi.
Regarding Denmark’s view of Israel, this is the official stance: Israel has an undeniable right to exist, and to do so in peace with it’s neighbours, but should pull out of the occupied territories as soon as possible, including the various illegal settlements. Many danes feel very strongly about the latter, to a point where they, unfortunately, have a tendency to use it as an excuse for any aggression the palestinians can muster. I’m afraid the larger picture and the realities of muslim attitude towards the west eludes many normal people…

Being that ‘our’ Congress has now shown its full hand about its willful impotence in dealing with treasonous war criminals complicit in mass murder, it is now clearly all about the power and avenues for strategic action of We the People. After Congressman Conyers chose to arrest some of our great patriots in this country, rather than push forth the process of impeachment which was laid out by the Founders to be used, regularly if necessary, in the case of mismanagement, conflicts of interest, unbecoming behavior and general ineptitude, it should give us serious pause in thinking about our strategic way forward. The entire administration is a conflict of interests. George Bush and Dick Cheney are the biggest racketeering corporatists in history. Mussolini could not have been prouder. But, I guess the Democratic Party is more interested in playing politics (stupidly and impotently I might add) than saving the Constitution of our Republic and the lives of our soldiers, the Iraqi people, the Iranian people and all the people who will soon be consumed in the total war of terror if we dont pull the plug quickly. Se La Vi, especially in what has become an all out District of Criminality. So what are we gonna do, give up and die?!
Of course not. Many if not most of us in the 9-11 Truth and Justice movement never had much if any confidence in our current crop of politicos in the first place. The 9-11 Truth and Justice Movement is a profound example of a people power movement, from the underground books that sell like crazy and the blogger armies, to the monthly street actions around the world and the guerilla infowar confrontational specialists. With much work to do between now and then, especially so we don’t get false-flagged again, September 11th IS a big day, both symbolically and practically, for the movement. From the calls for a General Strike to the massive gathering planned that entire week for NYC, we can make that day the beginning of the coming “Fall” of 2007. There is resonance in fairly recent history for the rise of people power to bring down tyrannical regimes in the fall. Don’t worry about the Democrats. Those who have been playing nice have been making their fair share of money.
Dianne Feinstein, who helped Bush with the Patriot Act and the Amnesty Bill and her husband have made millions in clearly criminal acts and conflicts of interest. She is now trying to get the Amnesty Bill pushed through as the agJOBS Bill thinking that Americans will go ahead and let the Mexicans do the agricultural work. The only problem is that only 10% of illegal aliens do agricultural work.
The Democratic legislatures have passed bills requiring you to carry a Federal ID which will soon have a GPS device on it along with all of your personal information, passed the Thought Crimes Bill, given Bush the right to activate the national Guard and declare martial law in any state for any reason, allocated money to the Secret Service’s project to build prisons all over the country, given Bush the right to declare that you are a terrorist and detain you indefinitely, and continued to fund an illegal war.
It’s not the Republicans or Democrats at fault. It’s both.
