Typo Lands Man in Montana
A German tourist sets out to visit his girlfriend in Sydney, yet types in ‘Sidney’ in the Internet booking and winds up near Sidney, Montana. The typo is understandable, lord knows I make too many of them, but if you’re looking at your flights, wouldn’t you recognize it takes more than two hours to fly from Portland to Sydney, Australia?
“I did wonder but I didn’t want to say anything,” Gutt told the Bild newspaper. “I thought to myself, you can fly to Australia via the United States.”
Gutt’s airline ticket routed him via the U.S. city of Portland, Oregon, to Billings, Montana. Only as he was about to board a commuter flight to Sidney — an oil town of about 5,000 people — did he realize his mistake.
I’ve never heard of anyone trying to go to Paris, France and ending up waiting for a puddle jumper to take them to Paris, Texas. Maybe that’s because they know if they were in the DFW airport, it would take more than 45 minutes to fly to France.

Why?
Jim of bRight & Early found something very troubling here in the United States with a certain tradition. Why it has escaped serious media scruntiny is beyond me. Check it out for yourself.

David Zucker on the Iraq Survey Group
Ahmadinejad: We won’t do that.
Baker: Ok, will you reduce the number?
Iranian negotiator: Ok, how about 10 percent?
Baker: 20
Iranian negotiator: 15
Baker: 5
Ahmadinejad: Sold! (rings a bell)
UPDATE: A rather interesting email from Ahsilleri pertaining to this video. The language spoken by Ahmadinejad during the shell game is in Turkish, not Farsi, leading Ahsileri to wonder “So I guess Ahmadinejad is trying to con us any way he can.”
Did Zucker intentionally use Turkish or did he just cast Turkish actors knowing the vast majority of Americans, whom I perceive to be the target market for the ad, wouldn’t know the difference?

ALIENS! And the pigs are off to the races.
Cross posted from Bear Creek Ledger
I had heard this mentioned on Limbaugh’s radio program and thought it was hysterical and another prime example of Muslim exceptionalism.
Here’s the story. In Katy, TX a group of Muslims bought property in a rural/residential area. The property is sandwiched between 15 homes and a farm. The farm/ranch has been a generational home to the Baker family. Upon purchase of the property Mr. Baker was asked to pack up and leave since he has pigs. Yes, there are pigs walking along the property line to the mosque. Mr. Baker not only said that’s crazy but he put up a billboard announcing Friday Pig Races!! (more…)

SNL on Islamophobia
I haven’t watched ‘Saturday Night Live’ in ages so I missed this short segment on the show’s comic news skit regarding what fuels a backlash against Muslims. It’s very short, but pretty damn funny.

Al Qaida Orientation
Haha!
All very humorous, but there’s a bit of truth in the above quoted line. A captured Al Qaida document, released this past February, notes Al Qaida has a pretty open vacation policy. Yes, the group has a vacation policy.

‘The Growing Republican Homo Menace’
Iowahawk in a letter from Howard Dean to conservative America:
Dear Valued Potential Customer:
As the leader of one of America’s premier political parties, I know firsthand the importance of building bridges to the various communities and constituencies we serve. Unfortunately, when serving as many diverse communities as we do at the DNC, sometimes an important relationship can inadvertently fall through the cracks. Frankly, I realize we have not always brought our “A Game” when it comes to the concerns of conservative-Americans. That’s why we would like to take this opportunity to start a dialog with you, the conservative “values voter,” by addressing an issue of vital importance to all of us — the growing Republican homo menace.
Yes, it’s a parody, and it’s funny so read it.  I just don’t get this “outing” of alleged homosexual Republicans. So someone is gay. Ok? What’s that supposed to do to my vote?
Hey! I’m straight. Does that mean gay people can’t read my web site or agree with even some of my opinions?
